Why has my attitude gotten so great over the last month? Aside from being sick I’ve been unbelievably happy every day. Woooooot.

Why does this even exist………
I start volunteering at the food pickup spot on Saturday, I’ll be learning new fruits and vegetables every week! It is never guaranteed exactly what we will be getting weekly, but I am so excited. When we get the food they tell us where it is grown, how it is grown, and provide ideas for how to prepare it at home. Occasionally they will have a bulk deal on something. A woman I work with got 50 tubs of strawberries! She’s been making ‘fruit leather’ and bringing it to work. This will expand my flavor palate. And my mom got me an iron skillet! I’m so pumped to pan fry some steaks. My kitchen is really starting to shape up from the last apartment throwing it all away. (I mean stealing it.) I wish my doctor had given me an antibiotic or something to clear this illness up a little faster, I don’t want your painkillers. These do not make my throat stop itching. :(

It is a sad day for Texas schools. My eleven year old neice was at school and her class was lining up to get ready to go back to their regular class, they were in some type of study period with a different teacher than her core class teacher. A girl who has bullied her in the past, Diana*, yelled to her teacher “Ashley* pushed me!” Ashley is my neice. She is timid, gentle. Matronly, she takes care of others. The teacher asked Ashley if she hit Diana, she said “No! I was just standing here.” Diana had leaned over and whispered in her best friends ear. The teacher asked if anyone had seen it and Diana’s best friend immediately said “I did!!” The teacher then started disciplining my neice in front of the classroom, “Ashley you get a check for not keeping your hands to yourself, and another one for lying!.” Checks are their discipline system. Who was this woman? Who is she to announce to the class that my neice is a liar? My neice then opened her binder to look for something and she had a ton of pencils in her binder. Immediately the teacher said “Where did you get all of those pencils? Why do you have so many? Did you steal them? I think you stole them from your regular teacher.” Again I say, WHO IS THIS WOMAN? Who is she to question the morale of my neice, a girl who was probably thinking “well I can bring my friends a pencil,” when packing her pencils at home. Her regular teacher was well aware of the fact that she had this many pencils and had told her she didn’t need to bring them all. I’m not even going to go into my thoughts on it I just needed someone else to know this. This is ridiculous. How do you go from a kid crying sheep to OMG YOU’RE A THEIF YOU HAVE PENCILS AT SCHOOL HOW DARE YOU COME PREPARED.
